Reviews

Kids should read this book because it teaches that it’s ok to fail. It’s ok to make mistakes – maybe you’ll get it next time you try! We liked the examples of the lion cookies that looked like fat worms with legs, the duck cake that looked silly, when the kid tried to put a hat on the giraffe and the kid who got his head stuck in a kite. We think kids who fail all the time and anyone who makes mistakes would like this book. This book made us feel encouraged about making mistakes and trying again. It also amused us with the funny illustrations and examples. Finally it made us feel better about ourselves when we make mistakes.

This book is a gem! It centers around the idea of growth-mindset, but in a way that encourages everyone to embrace (and celebrate) their mistakes. It normalizes mistakes and failures and calls attention to ones that people typically experience. The feeling left is one of hope and even a little excitement. This is a must read for everyone!
