Reviews

Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan is a great book for children who like suspense or are going through hard times in their own life. Counting by 7s is about an adopted girl who loses both of her adopted parents in a car crash shortly after making her first friend. She temporarily lives at her new friend’s house which soon becomes an apartment complex. According to her friend’s mom everything right now is temporary, but then one day it isn’t. This story is very emotional and has a surprise ending. My favorite character was Willow Chance because after losing two full sets of legal guardians within only twelve years of her life she learned that the best thing to do in life is to move forward. This story would be great for readers who like gardening and are interested in medical conditions as they share the same interests as Willow. Counting by 7s is a great story for people who like tragedy because this story has a lot of it.

One day she took a test to see how intelligent she was. The envelope finally came and it said “highly gifted”.This story is set in many places like Willow’s house, garage/ home, The nail salon, school, Jamison, and Gardens of Glenwood. Willow goes through a lot of problems like losing parents to being an orphan.
