Reviews

This book stood out to me with its telling of history, kind of like a collection of stories in one book. The different stories were like different scenarios about what happened or what could happen, and it kept me interested. What I thought the author was trying to say in the book was to change history, and to not repeat what happened in the past. The book’s illustrations were colorful, vibrant, and fit in with the subject that was going on in that section of the story. What I enjoyed most about the book was its inclusion of everybody and ones who are underrepresented, and the book helps bring more light to their suffering and awareness. This book made me feel more curious about history, because it did cover the topics about how human life started, but I wanted to find more and learn more about history and what happened during it. I would recommend this book to anybody who is interested in learning history, and wants a little storytelling experience as well. I think middle schoolers would enjoy reading this book.

This is a really good book! You learn a lot about the past from it. The book explains how ancient people started to control things in their lives, like animals and plants. Eventually, this leads to people controlling other people. The book tells us how the stories about life that we tell ourselves can harm people. For example, in the past, people told the story that it was okay to treat other people, like servants, badly. People made rules about how to treat other people. I especially noticed how people were treated badly in the “Don’t Touch” part of the book about the Dalit people in ancient Egypt who were forced to do jobs that were considered wrong in other parts of the world.

The book Unstoppable Us was one I couldn’t stop reading. It is a really fun way to learn a lot of interesting things that happened in history. The chapters are very short and have titles that make you want to read them, like Diarrhea Days, Google It, and rescued by Creative Geeks. I learned a lot of interesting facts to tell my family. It also has a lot of great pictures to help you enjoy it even more.
