Q: Can my child read books on Biblionasium?
A: We do not have books on the website for kids to read. On Biblionasium, children can rate, review, and recommend books to their community. They can also log their reading and read against challenges. However, they need to get the books from their school and classroom library.
Q: What’s the difference between the classroom bookshelf and the kids bookshelf?
A: “My Books” displays your child’s personal bookshelf: books they have marked as favorite, want to read and so on. The group bookshelf is managed by your child’s teacher and also includes recommendations from their classmates.
Q: How do I add a book to a challenge?
A: To add books to an existing challenge, you will need to go to the Challenge and click , then and use the search function below the existing books.
Q: How do I change my challenge’s end date?
A: Go to the Challenge and click . The option to change the end date may not be available if the challenge has already expired.
Refer to this article for more info about group settings and how to delete unwanted recommendations.
Q: Are my reviews visible to people outside my group?
A: Student reviews are only visible to classmates and friends. Likewise, parent reviews are only visible to their kids and teacher reviews are only visible to their group(s). Our site does not allow for public reviews.
Q: Why can’t I log my child’s reading?
A: Student reading can only be logged from the Student Account. This is because we want students to feel engaged by recording their own reading and earning the rewards when they pop up. If your child is too young to log their own reading, simply log in with their credentials and enter their pages and minutes for them. Keep them nearby when you do it so they can see their badges as they earn them.
Q: Why are my child’s reading logs not counting toward their challenge(s)?
A: A number of factors could be influencing this. Please note the date the challenge was created. If you did not create the challenge, ask your child or their teacher when they created it. Reading logs will only count toward challenges within the date of creation and the date the challenge ends.
If the dates are correct and the logs still aren’t counting, check the challenge to make sure there is no genre requirement that is not being met. Otherwise, please email us and we will check into it for you.
