Here at Biblionasium, we realize that book reviews are an effective tool for students to express their thoughts, opinions, reactions, and preferences.

In an effort to encourage students to reflect on what they’re reading, we are pleased to announce the Because of Winn-Dixie review contest.

Because of Winn-Dixie Review Contest

  • Students can review Because of Winn-Dixie, or any other book by Kate DiCamillo listed on the ‘Contests’ tab of Biblionasium, between December 1 to December 31, 2020, to enter to win a box set of Kate DiCamillo’s books and the anniversary edition of Because of Winn-Dixie
  • 10 winners will win the set of books
  • The Contest is held in our CONTESTS tab on Biblionasium.com
HOW TO ENTER:
Step 1: Choose any book by Kate DiCamillo under the Contests tab.
Step 2: Read the book.
Step 3: After reading the book(s), write a review on Biblionasium and submit. You’ll be automatically entered into the contest! It’s that simple!

Contest Rules & Details

The contest is open from December 1 to December 31, 2020. We will contact the winners by educator or parent email to confirm permission to accept the prize.

Book reviews serve so many purposes: letting us know kids’ thoughts about what they read, helping students to reflect on the material, letting classmates know if they would like the book, and… entering The Last Kids on Earth Book Review Contest!

Summer Reading 2020 Contest Winners

 

Summer is over, but the joy of reading continues year-round. We know kids want to read what their peers are reading, so check out what actual kids have to say about their favorite books.

Five random winners and five top contributors to our Summer Review Contest have been selected and notified via email. Read excerpts from some of the winning reviews below.

Enter the Ordinary Kids Change the World Challenge by Penguin Young Readers

Ordinary People Change the World Series
 

Tell us how your kids or classroom would change the world! Brought to you by Penguin Young Readers, in partnership with iCivics.org!

Open to: Kids and classrooms ages 5-8.

Prizing: One individual kid winner and one classroom winner will be chosen. Each will receive $2,500 to help make their idea a reality, a virtual meeting with a mentor working in that field, and an OPCTW library.

Judges: Winners will be selected by PYR, iCivics, Brad Meltzer, and Christopher Eliopoulos.

How to Enter: Visit ordinarykidschangetheworld.com and select parent or teacher. Write 200 words about your child/class’s idea. Submit a picture drawn by your child or classroom showing their idea in action. Open 10/13/20-12/31/20. Winners chosen early 2021.
